Children with sensory processing disorder (SPD) often struggle to cope with and process their environment, causing them to exhibit challenging behaviors. Some common signs of SPD include difficulty with proprioception (awareness of one’s body in space), tactile defensiveness (preference for certain textures), oversensitivity to sound or touch, anxiety around new situations, inability to regulate emotions, daydreaming or spacing out frequently, excessive motor movement and clumsiness due to decreased awareness of body movement, and irrational fears. If your child shows any of these symptoms visit us at writesteps.com or call 858-401-2677.
